As part of his pastoral visit to the Orthodox Metropolis of Eldoret and Northern Kenya, His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by members of his delegation, paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Marianne Kitany, Member of Parliament for Aldai Constituency. The visit provided an opportunity for prayer, fellowship, and meaningful discussions on issues affecting local communities, particularly in the areas of education, social development, and the welfare of vulnerable families. The gathering reflected the shared commitment of both the Church and public leaders to work towards improving the lives of the people they serve.
"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up." (James 4:10)
Hon. Kitany warmly welcomed the Patriarch and his entourage to her home, where moments of prayer and fellowship were shared in an atmosphere of mutual respect and goodwill. The visit highlighted the important role that collaboration between faith communities and civic leaders can play in promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development.
His Beatitude emphasized the values of humility, compassion, patience, and love for one another as essential foundations for building stronger communities. These values, deeply rooted in the Gospel, continue to inspire efforts aimed at uplifting society and addressing the needs of those facing economic and social challenges.
The meeting also offered an opportunity to reflect on ongoing initiatives that support education and community empowerment within the constituency. The Orthodox Church remains committed to partnering with leaders and institutions that seek to promote human dignity, provide opportunities for young people, and strengthen families.
The Orthodox Metropolis of Eldoret and Northern Kenya expresses its sincere gratitude to Hon. Marianne Kitany for her generous hospitality and warm reception. Such encounters strengthen the bonds between the Church and the wider community while creating opportunities for cooperation in serving the common good.
As the Church continues its mission, prayers remain that God will bless all efforts aimed at bringing hope, peace, and development to communities throughout the region.
